Warranty

The majority of our vehicles are supplied with the balance of the manufacturers 3 year warranty, where a car is outside of the manufacturers warranty we supply a 3 month parts and labour warranty, with extended warranties available.

Products such as extended warranties have had very bad press over the years, but a lot has changed in the past 3 years. A government body called the FSA (Financial Standards Authority) began to regulate the monitor insurance backed products available in the motor industry early in 2005. The FSA regulate the constantly monitor and visit dealers on how these products are sold. More so they also regulate the actual warranty company to make sure that they are providing the customer with a warranty that "is worth the paper it is written on". Auto Barnes of Wales are regulated and authorized under the Financial Services Authority (FSA) as an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of Motorcare Warranties Limited and offer a wide range insurance underwritten products. We have identified the benefits of these products below, should you need further information then please contact the showroom.

  • Extended Breakdown Warranties - You can purchase various products to protect yourself against unforseen mechanical breakdown, the level of cover is huge and covers a wide array of items on the vehicle that were factory fitted. In fact the 'Gilt' warranties we sell are the closest match to that of a manufacturers warranty that was given on the vehicle when new. The Gilt cover level covers over 2000 components. Modern cars are obviously a lot more reliable than they used to be, but they are also much more complex and costly to repair. The extended warranties are available in 12 month/24 month and 36 month form, also available is the famous Lifetime of Ownership warranty, this warranty has a one off payment at the time of purchase and stays with you until you sell the car... even if this is in 10 years time. The lifetime warranty will renew year after year upon receipt of renewal documents. You can use any VAT registered garage in the UK for repairs and claims. Believe it or not its that simple. Term and conditions apply.
  • Financial GAP Insurance - which pays the difference between the motor insurance company's value at write off and the amount required to settle your finance agreement. This cover is only available to finance customers. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Return to Invoice Insurance - which pays the difference between the motor insurance company's value at write off and the amount paid for the vehicle on your invoice. This cover is for customers who do not require finance. Terms and conditions apply.
  • UK and European Breakdown Cover - Breakdown cover is designed to recover your vehicle from the place of breakdown to the nearest dealer of your choice. Standard UK recovery will even recover your vehicle from your home. Optional European cover is available at an extra premium.
  • MOT Test Insurance - This policy is designed to pay for parts and labour to allow a vehicle to pass the MOT test. If the failures itemized on the VT30 certificate is covered by the policy documented then the policy will pay to the agreed claim limit subject to a £10.00 excess. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Vehicle Tyre Insurance - This policy is designed to pay for parts and labour, either repair or replace up to 5 tyres over the period of the insurance, in the event that the tyre is either damaged or destroyed. Terms and conditions apply.
